Tasks
Track delivery work on a Kanban board or list, with statuses, phases, priorities, and assignees.
The Tasks area is where you track delivery work. You can view tasks as a Board (Kanban) or a List, filter them, and move them through your workflow.
Board vs. list
Switch between views with the Board and List toggle at the top:
- Board — a Kanban board with one column per status. Drag a card from one column to another to change its status, or reorder within a column.
- List — a compact, sortable table of the same tasks.
Task statuses
Tasks move through these statuses (the board has a column for each):
Backlog → To do → In progress → Reviewing → Reviewed → Done (and Cancelled).
Drag a card to a new column to update its status instantly.
Filter tasks
Use the toolbar to narrow what's shown — these apply to both views:
- Search by title.
- Status — any single status.
- Phase — a delivery phase (see below).
- Assignee — a specific team member.
Create and edit tasks
If you have an editor role (Owner, Admin, or Member):
Open a card to view its full detail, edit it, or — for Owners and Admins — delete it.
Task fields
| Field | Options |
|---|---|
| Status | Backlog, To do, In progress, Reviewing, Reviewed, Done, Cancelled |
| Priority | Low, Medium, High, Urgent |
| Phase | Discovery, Planning, Build, Test, Release |
| Assignee | Any project member |
| Dates | Start date and due date |
Use phase to separate planning work from build and test on the same board, without needing multiple boards.
Generate tasks with AI
Rather than creating tasks by hand, you can have Ragnarock generate a whole backlog from your SRS —
choose Generate Plan on the board, or use /plan in Ragnarock. See
Generate a task plan.
Keep Linear in sync
If your team uses Linear, the Tasks toolbar also includes sync actions so you can import, export, and sync issues without leaving the board. See Linear.
Permissions
Creating, editing, and reordering tasks requires an editor role (Owner, Admin, or Member). Deleting tasks requires Owner or Admin. Viewers and stakeholders can see the board but not change it.
