Organizations & invitations

Join an organization, create your own, accept invitations, and switch between organizations.

An organization is your team's shared workspace. It holds your people and the integrations (like Linear) that projects use. Every project belongs to exactly one organization, so before you can work on projects you need to be in one.

Create an organization

If you're starting fresh, create your own:

After signing in, choose Create organization (you'll be offered this automatically the first time, or you can reach it from the organization picker).

Give the organization a name.

You become its owner, with full control over members, projects, and integrations.

Join an organization by invitation

If a teammate is inviting you, you'll receive an invitation email with a link.

Open the invitation email and follow the link.

Accept the invitation. You'll join the organization with whatever role the inviter chose for you.

Invitations can expire. If a link no longer works, ask the person who invited you to send a fresh one.

Invite people to your organization

Owners and admins manage the organization's people from the Organization area in the main sidebar. From there you can invite teammates by email and manage existing members.

Inviting someone to the organization is different from adding them to a specific project — project membership is managed separately on each project's Members page.

Switch between organizations

If you belong to more than one organization, use the organization picker to change which one you're working in. Your projects, members, and integrations always reflect the active organization, so make sure the right one is selected before you start working.

Manage your organization

The Organization area (in the main sidebar, when no project is open) is where you handle:

Your member directory and their roles
Pending invitations
Organization-wide integrations such as Linear
